Dear Students,
I'm so happy that you are in our Government class here at Desert Hills High School,
a community of lifelong learners held to high standards of academic achievement, integrity, self- discipline, and personal responsibility.
My commitments to my students, like my last name, start with the letter E.
I will:
EXPECT the best from you, and insure you understand what you are expected
to know, do and become.
EMPOWER you with the knowledge and skills you need to become A4 Citizens,
and to succeed in college and the workplace.
ENCOURAGE you when you struggle and need a second chance.
EXTEND additional learning opportunities when you have already
mastered our learning targets and want to learn more.
Here are the commitments I ask of EACH of my students: Please strive for--
EFFICACY— the confidence, knowledge and skills you EARN, as you
become an A4 Citizen one step at a time.
ETHICS—practicing how to make wise and moral choices using sound
reasoning and problem-solving skills.
EMPATHY—treating others with respect and kindness, the way you
want others to treat you, at all times, both in and outside of the classroom.
I will be available to help students in Room 124 during General Study Homeroom and
Monday through Thursday before school, from 7:45 to 8:15, and after school, from 2:45 to 3:15. Parents and students may make an appointment for another convenient time by e-mail at [email protected].
I'm looking forward to a stupendous 2017-18 school year. Please let me know
how I can help you succeed!
